About The Company

Childress & Associates, REALTORS was established in 1939 by T. Johnson Childress, Sr.  After WWII and schooling at Virginia Tech, T.J. Childress, Jr. (Tommy) joined the business and continues today as Principal Broker.  Judy Childress joined the firm in 1972 as a sales associate and is currently an Associate Broker.
In the early 1950's Tommy was instrumental in establishing the Martinsville Association of Realtors and in the 1980's he was also instrumental in establishing the area Multiple Listing Service.  Both Tommy and Judy's leadership skills have benefited the Local and State REALTOR Associations many times over.  They have both served in key positions on the local as well as the state association.  Because of their leadership roles, they have been recognized extensively by their profession and their colleagues.  Both have been awarded the coveted Realtor of the Year Award and in 2000, Tommy was recognized as the first Realtor Emeritus in the Martinsville Association.  And yet, they still have time to provide the best service possible for their customers and clients and are two of the most knowledgeable and experienced agents you will find.
